FRED Shock Summary

The supplied FRED observations show a stable administered-rate and short-term funding configuration alongside sharply divergent uncertainty measures and almost no movement in broad corporate-credit spreads. IORB remained at 3.65%, within the unchanged 3.50%-3.75% federal funds target range, while the primary credit rate stayed at 3.75%. AMERIBOR was also unchanged at 3.67%, only 2 basis points above IORB and still inside the target-range boundaries. Taken strictly from these observations, the monetary-policy and overnight-rate complex showed no day-to-day repricing.

Credit spreads were similarly stable at the broad index level. The investment-grade corporate OAS remained 0.81%, BBB spreads remained 0.99%, aggregate high-yield remained 2.68%, and BB high-yield remained 1.55%. The one measurable credit deterioration was confined to CCC-and-lower debt, where the spread edged from 10.54% to 10.55%, a 1-basis-point increase. The cross-sectional dispersion is much more notable than the daily changes: CCC-and-lower spreads stood 9.00 percentage points above BB spreads, while aggregate high-yield was 1.13 percentage points above BB. That structure indicates that the weakest-quality segment was carrying substantially more compensation for risk than the higher-quality speculative-grade segment, but the latest observations do not show a broad new widening episode.

The uncertainty indicators moved in conflicting directions. The U.S. Economic Policy Uncertainty Index fell from 709.62 to 466.37, a decline of 243.25 points, or about 34.3%. At the same time, the Equity Market-related Economic Uncertainty Index jumped from 106.43 to 704.15, an increase of 597.72 points, or roughly 561.6%. VIX also rose, but far more moderately, from 14.53 to 15.30, an increase of 0.77 points, or about 5.3%. The combination therefore does not support a single uniform interpretation of ‘uncertainty’: the broad policy-oriented measure declined sharply, while the equity-market-related measure surged and option-implied equity volatility increased modestly.

Taken together, the deterministic snapshot is characterized by policy-rate stability, essentially unchanged broad credit pricing, a negligible 1-basis-point weakening at the lowest-rated credit tier, and a pronounced divergence among uncertainty gauges. The absence of movement in investment-grade, BBB, aggregate high-yield, and BB spreads means the very large rise in the equity-market-related uncertainty index was not accompanied in these observations by a comparable broad repricing of corporate credit risk. The data therefore describe localized or measure-specific tension rather than a synchronized shift across the supplied funding, credit, and uncertainty indicators.

Yahoo Shock Summary

The supplied Yahoo observations show a mixed cross-asset session rather than a uniform risk-on or risk-off move. Greater China equities diverged: the CSI 300 rose 26.97 points, or 0.59%, to 4575.02, while the Hang Seng fell 237.75 points, or 0.93%, to 25413.12. The opposite directions are important because they prevent the regional equity data from being summarized as a single China-related market move.

Cryptocurrencies weakened. Bitcoin fell $1,234.20, or 1.54%, to $79,115.85, while Ethereum declined $23.59, or 0.94%, to $2,490.96. Bitcoin therefore experienced the larger percentage decline of the two supplied crypto assets. Their simultaneous losses contrast with the positive CSI 300 move and again argue against interpreting the snapshot through one broad risk-sentiment factor.

Foreign-exchange data show a generally softer U.S. dollar against several major currencies. DXY declined 0.26% to 98.89. EUR/USD rose 0.12% and GBP/USD rose 0.22%, both consistent with modest dollar depreciation against the euro and sterling. The largest FX move was USD/JPY, which fell 1.50% from 156.20 to 153.85; because the quote is dollars per yen denominator convention, the lower USD/JPY level corresponds to a materially stronger yen against the dollar over the reported interval. USD/CNH was essentially unchanged, with the quoted 0.02% increase indicating only a very small move toward a weaker offshore renminbi against the dollar. The currency pattern was therefore broad but uneven, with the yen move substantially larger than those in the European currencies or CNH.

Several futures series were unchanged in the supplied completed-close observations. Brent remained at 96.28, WTI at 91.48, gold at 4476.60, silver at 66.75, copper at 6.68, and the 2-year Treasury note future at 102.56. Because these inputs show exactly zero reported change, they provide no independent directional price signal for the interval and should not be used to infer confirmation of the moves seen in currencies, equities, or crypto.

Overall, the cross-asset configuration combines a softer dollar, especially against the yen, declining Bitcoin and Ethereum, and divergent Chinese and Hong Kong equity performance, while the supplied commodity and short-duration Treasury futures observations are flat. These pieces do not align into a single synchronized macro trade. The strongest directional signals in the packet are the 1.54% Bitcoin decline, 1.50% fall in USD/JPY, 0.93% Hang Seng decline, and 0.59% CSI 300 gain. The appropriate reading from the provided data alone is therefore one of asset-specific dispersion rather than a broad, internally consistent cross-market repricing.
