FRED Shock Summary
The lagged FRED observations show a tightly clustered overnight funding complex alongside a modest upward move in nominal Treasury yields and very limited change in broad credit spreads. SOFR eased by 1 basis point to 3.64% from 3.65%, while EFFR and OBFR were unchanged at 3.63%. IORB also remained unchanged at 3.65% through September 10. On the latest reported observations, SOFR therefore sat 1 basis point below IORB, while EFFR and OBFR were 2 basis points below it. AMERIBOR moved in the opposite direction, rising 1 basis point to 3.68%, placing it modestly above the other overnight benchmarks. Taken together, these readings indicate small differences across funding instruments rather than a broad shift in overnight rates.
Treasury yields moved slightly higher between September 4 and September 8. The 2-year and 10-year yields each increased by 2 basis points, to 4.39% and 4.80%, respectively, while the 30-year yield rose 1 basis point to 5.25%. The 10-year inflation-indexed yield was unchanged at 2.43%, so within these observations the increase in the nominal 10-year yield occurred without a corresponding rise in the reported 10-year real yield. The separately reported 10-year-minus-2-year spread edged down from 0.41% on September 8 to 0.40% on September 9, leaving the curve positively sloped but marginally flatter at that point.
Credit spreads were broadly stable. The investment-grade corporate OAS remained at 0.81%, BBB spreads stayed at 0.99%, and BB spreads held at 1.55%. The broad high-yield spread narrowed by 1 basis point to 2.67%, while the CCC-and-lower spread increased by 1 basis point to 10.56%. The combination of stable aggregate spreads with a small widening at the lowest-rated tier shows little movement in broad corporate risk pricing while preserving a large spread differential between stronger and weaker speculative-grade borrowers. Because the series have different latest observation dates, these changes are best read as a lagged snapshot rather than a perfectly synchronized market close.

Yahoo Shock Summary
The completed-close cross-asset observations show pronounced dispersion rather than a single uniform market direction. The CSI 300 rose 0.38% to 4572.60, and Bitcoin increased 0.42% to 78,765.27. By contrast, several large U.S. technology and semiconductor-related equities declined: Apple fell 0.28%, Amazon 1.78%, ASML 2.00%, Broadcom 1.13%, while Coinbase declined 2.36% and BMNR fell 2.26%. AMD was the clear exception within that group, rising 3.04% to 521.10. The difference between AMD’s advance and declines elsewhere indicates substantial single-name dispersion even among assets that can sometimes trade as part of similar technology or risk-oriented baskets.
Energy was the strongest broad move in the packet. Brent crude rose 3.36% to 101.21 and WTI increased 3.25% to 96.05. The broader DBC commodity fund also advanced 1.39%, consistent at the observational level with a stronger commodity complex on the day, although the supplied data do not establish what caused those moves. The magnitude of the oil gains was notably larger than the changes in the CSI 300, Bitcoin, the dollar index, or aggregate bonds.
Fixed income weakened modestly in price terms, with AGG declining 0.23% to 96.68. The U.S. Dollar Index was nearly unchanged, slipping 0.07% to 98.77, while USD/CNH also moved only slightly, falling 0.09% to 6.71, which corresponds to a very small strengthening of the offshore renminbi against the dollar in this quote convention. These limited currency moves contrast with the much larger shifts in crude oil and selected equities.
Overall, the packet depicts a session characterized by cross-asset differentiation: commodities, especially crude oil, advanced strongly; Chinese equities and Bitcoin posted small gains; aggregate U.S. bonds declined modestly; the dollar was nearly flat; and major technology-linked equities were mixed, with AMD sharply higher against declines in several peers. The provisional September 10 rows for the CSI 300, Bitcoin, and USD/CNH were explicitly excluded, so the analysis reflects only completed observations through September 9 for those series.
